Despite this being the busiest point in my semester, I decided to take over Virginia Wesleyan’s Enrollment Office’s SnapChat account to show off “A Day in the Life of a Study Abroad Student.” Of course, going into this day I had not originally anticipated having two presentations and an exam the next morning. Again, the great balancing game came into play as I had to fulfill my promise to the enrollment office and snap away all day.
During the day, I headed to my internship and taught my students a little lesson on advertisements. Then, I had to switch gears and go to my own classes, eat lunch, and literally lock myself in ththe library for several hours to get much needed homework done. In the evening, my snapchatting whirlwind continued as a wandered to some of my favorite places in Salamanca to show off my new city. In the evening, I had a Farewell Dinner with API and I ended my night with a lovely stroll home. To see my takeover first hand, watch the video below!
After having spent my day recording almost every move, I realized the power I had to record and remember my time in Salamanca. I find myself struggling to document many moments in Spain, because I want to just be in the moment. So, videotaping all day was quite different, but I feel as though it was worth it. Videos and photographs truly help me reflect and cherish the memories I am making during my time abroad. Although I wish it would have come on another day, I am happy I was given the opportunity to show off the place that I love for the school that I love!
