The last few weeks have been crazy! I have been traveling around four different countries in two weeks. Needless to say, I. Am. Exhausted. Despite the exhaustion, however, I know that the memories I have made traveling will be so worth it in the end. This weekend, I was off to Lisbon, Portugal. I went with my study abroad program (API), and if I am being honest, had this trip not been included with the program, I probably would not have traveled to Lisbon or Portugal. What a mistake that would have been! Lisbon was such an unforgettable trip, and I am so happy I was given the opportunity to go.

The city is so full of history and beauty, and I feel in love as soon as we got off the bus. The weather was exquisite, and the buildings were precious. We wandered the hilly streets while yellow trolleys passed us on either side, which gave me nostalgic memories of my favorite show growing up, Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. As we reaching the tops of the many hills, I found myself having to look behind to take in the breathtaking views. It was incredible. We also got to listen to the musical delights of El Fado music, which is the traditional music in Portugal. We awed at the monastery, stuffed our faces with Pasteis de Belem pasteries, and compared the city to San Francisco with its identical bridge crossing the river. We even popped over to the town of Cascais where we got to go to a tiny beach and basque in the sunshine. To better get an idea of the splendid time I had, take a look at this video of our trip!
